I hate when fans talk abut “their patronus” or which house they are in. None of us are in houses, and none of us have pratronus’s. We’re Muggles! Stop kidding yourselves! That is the only part of the fandom I am embarrassed about.
This is just about the only part of the fandom that embarrasses me. When fans take HP TOO seriously.

Can’t you use that embarassment for something a little more serious? We’re having fun.
You can kindly fuck right off.

I was worried that even if I did find Potterheads, I’d get flack for being in Slytherin…but no one has minded!

I hate the whole trend of putting song lyrics into houses. I don’t get it at all. Example: the lyrics to S&M are not appropriate to every single Slytherin. That is just one of the many weird examples I’ve seen.

Well okay then. That’s an odd thing to do. The only one that I can see working a bit is Rabbit Heart for Gryffindor.

My best friend and I are hardcore Potterheads. I’m a Slytherin and would be a Death Eater, while he is a Gryffindor and would be a member of The Order of the Phoenix. We have known each other since we were 7 years old(14 years) and we never have had a serious problem during our friendship. In fact, he is the one person that can calm me down with a simply word if i’m angry or upset. A lot of people find it weird we even get along, considering our houses and where our loyalties lie. It just goes to show you Slytherins and Gryffindors can be the best of friends.

Slytherin and Gryffindor work really well together actually and, rivalries aside, have the capacity to not only do great things but be great, great friends.
But, I’d like to say… Being a Slytherin is not synonymous with being a Death Eater (which, basically, is the Wizarding World equivalent of a supremacist terrorist faction), nor is being a Gryffindor grounds automatic inclusion in the Order of the Phoenix (which is the equivalent of a grassroots militant force).
I also don’t understand how so many people can so proudly proclaim allegiance to the Death Eaters. Did we all read the same book? Being a Death Eater means having no scruples, no mercy, no speck of human decency or kindness… The only exceptions are the Malfoys and their involvement had more to do with cowardice and self-interest than actual loyalty. Voldemort viewed everyone who wasn’t himself as a pawn. Expendable. I would never be able to align myself with someone like that… or respect anyone who did.

I feel like Ravenclaw is under-represented in the fandom because of how many people think it is “cool” to be a Gryffindor or Slytherin. I got made fun of in elementary school because all of my friends wanted to be just like Harry and Hermione and I wanted to be a Ravenclaw, even though at that point we hadn’t been introduced to Luna or Cho. It would be easier if we all claimed houses according to who we actually are, not what we think is cooler. I’m willing to bet all the Hufflepuffs out there know what I mean too!

Odd, I’ve seen so much more people who want to be Ravenclaws as of late.

“It would be easier if we all claimed houses according to who we actually are, not what we think is cooler.”

I guess the rest of us in Slytherin and Gryffindor who were sorted by Pottermore are just frauds then?
Ravenclaw did always have this smarmy attitude in the books to me.

After 1000 Years of this system, would they? Just because they’re in different houses doesn’t mean they can’t be united or friendly.

I really can’t stand when people are split house. You are only given ONE house, not two, not three, not four. The sorting hat doesn’t go, ” on Mondays and Wednesdays go to Ravenclaw on on Tuesdays and Thursdays go to Slytherin and on Friday go to griffyndor. NO, YOU ARE GIVEN ONLY ONE HOUSE.

Houses aren’t the final say on your personality, some people feel like they fit well in more than one. I know I considered myself a Slytherclaw UNTIL Pottermore put me in Slytherin, even though I was also sorted into Gryffindor on CoS.
