It touches my heart that Snape loved Lily but he’s an asshole.

I really do love Snape, bu still in the last movie I think that James Potter was literally pushed aside and he was shown like the “home-wrecker” for Snape and Lily.
Lily and James were in love, but we didn’t see it that much in the movies.
James is Harry’s father, Lily loved James.

Yeah…James was shown to be this little prick. Yeah, we have an explanation that showed why Snape loved Lily, but we never saw why she picked James (or did we. I don’t think so).

Honestly, I don’t really understand why Harry Potter “fans” fight about every little thing in Harry Potter. You fight about whether Ginny deserved Harry. Whether Ron deserved Hermione. Who should have been with who. Whether Snape was actually great guy or not. Who the true hero was. If you don’t read the books and you just watch movies that you’re not a true fan. And the thing I see the most that everyone fights about is who Lily should have chosen, Snape or James. Yes, James was a bully, and that wasn’t right. But, he grew out of it. I feel like you all forget that Snape bullied the kids at Hogwarts throughout the first 6 books/movies. He was a bully, too. In the end, James and Snape both had become better men, though. James loved Lily just as much as Snape did. I think people don’t realize that if Lily would have chosen Snape over James that there would be no Harry Potter which would have resulted in no books, and in turn would have resulted in no movies. Everyone that fought in the Battle of Hogwarts were heroes. Not just one certain person. Loving someone is not about who deserves who, it’s about love. And, Snape in the end was a truly great guy. I feel like if you’re a true fan, you won’t fight about all of these things. You will just enjoy the books/movies how JK Rowling wrote them. And, you won’t criticize the people who don’t like to read for just watching the movies. They’re just as much fans of the story as you are, and saying they’re not is just dumb. End of Story.

Not necessarily; It would just be a different story.

It always bothered me that in the movies they made the characters from the Marauders era (Harry’s parents, Sirius, Lupin, Snape, etc.) so old. Don’t get me wrong, they are all played by great actors, but it has just always bothered me. I mean, part of the reason why Harry’s parents deaths are so sad is because they were SO young (only 22!). Also, Sirius was so much more relatable in the books because he missed out on alot of his life, and that’s why in his mid 30’s, he was still so immature. They shouldn’t have been that old.

I think Sirius and Remus have excuses for looking so old - being held in prison and constantly worrying about your affliction that prevents you from having a job or friends.
As for Lily and James, I’ve no idea.

I don’t think Lily and James truly loved each other. I think they only got married because Lily was pregnant. James viewed her as a trophy and I really wish she and Severus could have been together.

I think Lily had too much pride to be married out of wedlock. If James had really thought she was a trophy, he probably would have saved himself alone on October 31st.

Arguably, Molly did so for Ginny, Narcissa for Draco, and…well, we really don’t know what happened to the Longbottoms.
Tons of mothers put their way in danger for their children - Lily was just the only one that died.
